About Us

Providing a solid thrust to the domain of human resources knowledge at XLRI is SAPPHIRE, the Students' Association for the Promotion of Personnel Management, Human Resources and Industrial Relations at XLRI.

Founded in 1989, the student body aims to integrate practitioners' experiences with academicians' knowledge in human resource development by organising a consortium of events annually that serve as platforms for deliberating and discussing state-of-the-art HR practices.

SAPPHIRE's mission is to develop world-class, well-rounded HR professionals capable of delivering and creating value in the emerging business environment and making meaningful contributions to the field of Human Resources.

Central to this mission is the unshaken belief that continuous interaction with industry is needed to give a cohesive, practical business perspective. Hence, the student body organises acclaimed events like Battle HRoyale, a National level inter-college quizzing league, the National HR Colosseum, a four-course event to test HR competencies, and the flagship National HR Conference along with a plethora of opportunities for live projects and workshops conducted throughout the year.
